Mo is a Senior Tax Manager at Tighe, Kress & Orr, P.C. with over ten years of combined Big 4 public accounting and industry experience. The majority of his experience and concentration is in tax & accounting consulting and compliance, tax planning, and researching complex tax issues for businesses and high net-worth individuals. Prior to joining Tighe Kress & Orr, P.C. Mo was at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP (PwC) in their Asset Wealth Management tax group.

Mo has experience working with clients in the real estate industry, financial services, consumer retail, and business to business electronic market. He has been involved in managing large partnerships and corporate compliance, multi-state filings, international tax issues including foreign reporting, payroll and 1099 related compliance and consulting, and IRS/State notice responses. Mo is very zealous when it comes to working with high net-worth clients and pass-through entities such as partnerships and s-corporations and working with the clients directly to save them money and structuring the businesses to always generate the best possible answer for his clients.

Mo’s accomplishments include helping a client bring the LIFO conversion of inventory for tax purposes in-house saving the client $100,000 annually in consulting fees. He also generated $117,000 in tax savings for a high net-worth individual and their related pass-through entities by consulting and filing an accounting method change. Additionally, Mo has saved clients thousands of dollars annually by structuring their businesses in the right format and avoiding unnecessary taxation.

Mo’s passion for tax and a unique tailored strategy and plan for each client situation is what sets him apart and have clients coming back. His clients love his promptness in responding to their communications and always providing an update on where they stand.

Mo received his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Central Florida and Master of Science in Taxation from Nova Southeastern University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Illinois and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.

When Mo is not at work you will most likely find him out by the lake or outdoors spending time with his wife Zahra and their 4 children, Fatimah, Aasiya, Zainab, and Abbas.
