Steve is a Principal with over 15 years of public accounting experience. He specializes in providing assurance, tax, and consulting services for privately held middle market companies, not-for-profit entities, as well as employee benefit plans. Prior to joining Tighe, Kress, & Orr, Steve was a Manager in the assurance practice at Miller Cooper & Co., Ltd. and Plante Moran.

He has significant experience planning and supervising audits, reviews, compilations and agreed upon procedures. He works to effectively manage his clients’ assurance needs, while minimizing the cost and human capital impact on their businesses.

In addition to his financial reporting expertise, Steve’s accomplishments include planning and structuring entities to maximize tax savings. He has successfully helped to structure clients’ entities resulting in annual tax savings of over $150,000 through the effective use of export entities. He has also worked on behalf of his clients in several “No Change” IRS audits.

Steve prides himself on his responsiveness and focus on the client experience. He values each client equally, no matter the size or complexity. Whether discussing accounting issues for an audit, tax planning, or working through a consulting project, Steve ensures his clients understand and are comfortable with the positions they are taking.

He received a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Illinois CPA Society.

When Steve is not at work, you will most likely find him playing golf, attending car shows, or spending time with his wife Suzze and their children, Alexis, Ethan and Marcus.
